Martin Luther King Jr. Day: What's Opened, Closed

Nearly 45 years after his death, Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy lives on as do his most insightful quotes:

Today is a federal holiday commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here is what's open and closed:

McHenry County facilities will be closed on Monday in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, including the courthouse at 220 North Seminary Ave. in Woodstock and county administration building at 667 Ware Road in Woodstock. 

Huntley Village Hall, 10987 Main St., will both closedon Martin Luther King Day. The holiday scheduled will be in effect for recycling and trash pick-up.

All United State Post Offices will be closed on Monday. There is no regular mail delivery/pickup or retail services on postal holidays. 

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is considered a bank holiday and most banks will be closed on Monday, including Chase Bank and U.S. Bank. Check with your bank to see if it is opened or closed. 

Most other area businesses, restaurants and stores will be open for normal business hours on Monday.
