Why enter a pageant?

Most young women enter pageants in order to win some scholarship money, and gain a little confidence and poise while doing so. They love meeting other girls, shopping for beautiful dresses, and honing their speaking skills! Even though pageants have been made popular (in a negative way) through certain reality shows, there are some very execellent young women who enter the pageants themselves, without pageant moms pushing them into doing so!
