Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Huntley

Between three to six inches is expected for some areas under the advisory by later this evening.

A winter weather advisory will take effect starting at noon today through 9 p.m. tonight for Huntley and much of the Chicago suburbs.  The winter storm is expected to bring with it rain or wet snow starting early in the afternoon and switching to mainly wet snow later this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Chicago.  Snow will continue into the evening commute hours and is expected to be heavy at times, according to the NWS. Huntley is expected to get 2 to 4 inches of snow today and then another 1 to 3 inches tonight, according to the NWS. It's crowded, the lines are long, security is a hassle, and it seems like you have to walk for miles. However, keep in mind that your kids LOVE the airport. The walking sidewalks, luggage carousels, trams, and airport attractions are exciting to them. So, with a little attitude adjustment, you can keep the kids amused and actually have fun yourself while traveling through or waiting out that delay at the airport. A Hawaiian State of Mind

McHenry County Travel Show being held this weekend for you to book that dream vacation to Hawaii or other locales.

Area residents will have an opportunity to get out of the cold and into a tropical state of mind this weekend. The annual McHenry County Tour, Cruise & Honeymoon Show is being held Sunday, Jan. 9 at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake. The event, sponsored by Cary Travel Express, is in its 13th year and will have more than 20 vendors on site to discuss travel needs. Kathy Kadlec, marketing representative for Cary Travel Express, said there will be five vendors on site that will present seminars on all that you need to know on: Europe river cruising, Alaska, Disney, cruising and Hawaii.
