New Christmas Tradition Yields Results

Elf on the Shelf gives more incentive to behave.

Why, oh why, didn't Santa send him sooner? I never knew the miracles Mr. "Elf on the Shelf" could work. But since he arrived at the beginning of the month, things have been quite different around the Johnson household. Now, I wouldn't say my kids are naughty. But they are kids. They love to get under each other's skin. And they don't love to help out around the house. These days though, since Christmas presents are at stake, thing are little different. The girls are being noticeably nicer to each other. One of them even volunteered to empty the dishwasher. Yes, that's right. I didn't have to ask. Start Planning Now for District 158 Foundation Breakfast with Santa

Tickets sell out fast, and the price helps enhance education in Huntley schools

Just because we're early in November, doesn't mean you can wait to book your Christmastime fun. Tickets for the District 158 Education Foundation's annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 4, went on sale this week. And for the past two years, these tickets have sold out. They're a hot commodity, because not only does the $5 admission price per person pay for all of your morning of fun, it also goes to help a good cause. All of the proceeds from the event go to the District 158 Education Foundation, which raises money to enhance education in the local schools and to fund scholarships for graduating Huntley High School seniors. Since the Foundation began in 2002 it has given away $81,000 in scholarships to District 158 students, …
