Prime Outlets Gets New Owner, New Name
Largest U.S. retail real estate company purchases outlet mall, renames it the Huntley Outlet Center.
Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group, Inc. recently acquired the Prime Outlets-Huntley as part of a $2.3 billion deal that included 21 Prime Outlet center properties across the country. SPG's Premium Outlets division will oversee operation of the newly named Huntley Outlet Center, 11800 Factory Shops Blvd. The Huntley Outlet Center is home to retailers such as Aeropostale, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, BCBG Max Azria, Bose and Calvin Klein. The company, recognized as the top-ranked real estate company in Fortune Magazine's 2009 List of America's Most Admired Companies, is working on the rebranding of all the properties as it continues to incorporate them into the Premium Outlets portfolio.
