Boy Scout Donates Coats to Kane County Sheriff’s Office
Geneva Boy Scout working on his Eagle Scout Project donates more than 300 coats.
Kane County Sheriff Pat Perez received a donation of over 300 winter coats this week to be given to inmates who are released from the Kane County Adult Justice Center in the winter but do not have a coat to wear. Many times people are brought into the jail during the summer but released in the winter and they are ill prepared for the climate they are going into, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. This has been a recognized need at the Adult Justice Center for some time and it was through the work of Ted Spiro, a Geneva Boy Scout working on his Eagle Scout Project, who filled the need.
