“Under the Streetlamp” performers give advice to teens.
Agents, auditions, personal sacrifices and inspirations were topics discussed by former members of the Chicago cast of "Jersey Boys" during a Q&A session at Huntley High School Friday. The event, attended by more than 100 of the school’s theatre and chorus students, leads up to today's performance of “Under the Streetlamp” – a sold out fundraiser for the school’s fine arts program, starring Michael Ingersoll, Michael Cunio, Shonn Wiley and Christopher Kale Jones. “We’re still pretty much rock stars for your Moms,” joked Ingersoll, who said he performed the "Jersey Boys" show 1,300 times before it ended last year. “We formed our own group with Under the Streetlamp and we pretty much do doo-wop stuff, 50s, 60s and 70s.” Ingersoll was joined …

The Saturday Jan 29th performance of Under the Streetlamp is sold out. The Fine Art Boosters of Huntley High School is planning an additional performance on Sunday afternoon.

The UTSL committee lead by Kim Skaja is collecting names to fill seats for a Sunday Matinée on Jan 30th. Kim is hoping to have her phone ring off the hook with people interested in experiencing an incredible line up of songs from the 60’s. That is a lot of seats to fill in two weeks so the committee hopes the Huntley community can help spread the word of another show. Please call, e-mail, tweet, and send Facebook event notice to friends and family. The whole 60’s era is popular again influenced by the play “Jersey Boys” and TV show “Mad Man…

Lorie Woods, community relations coordinator for the district, said "Under the Streetlight" was chosen to perform because of the Jersey Boys' popularity and expects a good turnout. Kim Skaja, the committee chair, was the one who decided to bring "Under the Streetlamp" to the high school. "I saw the [Jersey Boys] show and my son was a substitute musician in the show," she …
