Huntley Police: No Injuries in Three-Car Accident

Route 47 accident caused traffic delays Thursday afternoon.

  Huntley Police and Huntley firefighters responded to a three-car accident at Route 47 and Jim Dhamer Drive around 3:43 p.m. Thursday that backed up traffic for about an hour. While one driver had to be extricated, no one in any of the vehicles was transported for any injuries, Huntley Deputy Chief Michael Klunk said. Traffic was backed up while police and firefighters cleared the scene.

Union Man Held on $30,000 Bail

Man arrested in bomb threat remains in McHenry County jail following weekend incident.

A Union man remained in the McHenry County jail Tuesday on $30,000 bail in a bomb threat incident in Huntley Saturday. Derek M. Habbley, 25, of 10215 Ridge Lane, Union, is charged with felony disorderly conduct, Class 3 felony, police said.  Habbley reportedly made threats to his cell phone company Saturday afternoon and claimed he had a bomb in the parking lot of Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road. He gave a description of himself and his car to the cellular service provider, according to reports. Huntley police responded to the scene and found Habbley, who later admitted to making threats. As the father of a 15 yr old and 12 yr old....I am getting tired of reading about all of these kids getting arrested with cannabis and released to their parents. It is still illegal right? How about 10hrs of mandatory community service and 6 hrs in a holding cell for the first offense and escalate from there? Seems the minor drug use is largely overlooked...probably because there is no revenue …   more ›

Huntley Police Arrests for Aug. 20 to Aug. 25

Thefts:   Kimberly C. Pomerich, 20, of 9806 Aberdeen, Huntley, and Alyssa M. Bell, 18, of 1300 Tanglewood, Algonquin, were charged Aug. 21 with retail theft.  Both posted bond and were released with Kane County court dates of September 10, 2012.   A theft report was taken Aug. 20, in the 12900 block of Brookwood Dr. Jewelry was reported stolen from the residence.   A theft report was taken Aug. 24 in the 10600 block of Lone Star Way, Huntley.  Cash was reported stolen from a vehicle.   A 16 year old male from Lake in the Hills was charged Aug. 25 with retail theft.  The juvenile was released to his parents with a McHenry County court date of October 29.   Disorderly Conduct: Michael A. Michigan Charges Dropped Against Huntley Man

Lance Adams III, an officer with the Elgin Police Department, pleaded no contest to a final misdemeanor charge.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports three charges filed against Huntley resident Lance Adams III were dropped. Adams, 50, is a police officer with the Elgin Police Department. Originally, Adams was charged with two misdemeanor counts of assault and battery, and one count resisting and obstructing a police officer, The Muskegon Chronicle reports. On Monday, Jan. 30, Adams pleaded no contest in Muskegon County 14th Circuit Court to one misdemeanor charge: Attempted resisting and obstructing an officer, the Michigan newspaper reports, while the initial charges were dropped. Adams will serve no jail time, but was sentenced to six months probation and $678 in fines, the story said. The charges stem from a July 2011 incident when Adams and his nephew…
