Illinoisans Get a Taste of Kona Hawaiian Shaved Ice Via Huntley Franchise

Huntley couple have the first Kona Ice Truck franchise in Illinois. Their Kona Shaved Ice truck will make be at Marengo’s Settler’s Days on Oct. 7 and at Coach Tomaso Celebration Walk & 5k Fun Run in Huntley on Oct. 13.

  Sherry Ravagnie’s new ride turns a lot of heads. “It’s like Disney on wheels,” the Huntley mom of three said of her new Kona Ice Truck. “It’s like the Cadillac of ice cream trucks.” The decked out Kona Ice Truck _ which has a Bose Sound System that plays calypso music and Kona’s patented Kona Ice Flavorwave _ is the first in Illinois. Kona Ice offers Hawaiian shaved ice with hundreds of flavor options. “It’s pretty fun just watching the heads turn,” Sherry said. Sherry and her husband, Scott, have the first Kona franchise in Illinois. Chicago Haunt Builders Provide Frightful Scenes for Halloween Fun

Chicago Haunt Builders provides a map of members' homes open to the public, including homes in Huntley, Algonquin and Lake in the Hills.

  Holiday Habits, a haunt in Huntley at 10716 Wheatlands Way, opens this weekend. Owner Joe Buedel is a member of Chicago Haunt Builders, which has members throughout the area and the region. Chicago Haunt Builders provides a map on its website so you can visit members' homes. Some are scary, some are gory, some are creepy. All will give you a good scare.

Resale Shop a Go in Downtown Huntley

Business owner receives village board’s approval despite some concerns raised by one trustee about parking in the downtown.

  A new business _ a resale shop specializing in furniture _ is moving into downtown Huntley but the lack of parking was a sticking point for one trustee who voted against the plan. Business owner Darla Jones recently requested a special use permit for a second hand shop in the 2,200 square foot storefront on Woodstock St., adjacent to the post office. The Huntley post office occupied the space until 2008 when it moved some of its facilities to a new location.   Vintage Resale will offer furniture, home accessories and items purchased from storage. It will not accept donations. The store will make the shop handicap assessable, adding unitsa ramp and a bathroom. Huntley’s Planning Commission approved the special use permit but the village …

As the father of a 15 yr old and 12 yr old....I am getting tired of reading about all of these kids getting arrested with cannabis and released to their parents. It is still illegal right? How about 10hrs of mandatory community service and 6 hrs in a holding cell for the first offense and escalate from there? Huntley Cops Crack Down on Vehicles Blocking Sidewalks

Chief John Perkins says officers will start giving warnings starting today, Oct. 1, to homeowners whose vehicles block sidewalks.

  Huntley police are cracking down on vehicles parked in driveways that block sidewalks, Police Chief John Perkins said. The department has received complaints from pedestrians and bicyclists about vehicles parking across the sidewalk, Perkins said. Huntley has an ordinance prohibiting parking across public sidewalks so police will begin aggressively enforcing the ordinance starting this month, he said. Officers will start giving warning tickets, he said. A regular ticket carries a $25 fine. Huntley police have been sending out emails and put information on the village’s website about the ordinance. Pedestrians, especially parents pushing strollers, find it inconvenient to run across a car blocking the sidewalk, Perkins said. The …

My elderly mom was visiting for easter and parked in our drve across sidewalk on easter sunday and got a ticket not a warning from huntley police.What a shame on easter people have nothing else to do or complain about.
