Huntley police release details of Huntley High School teacher's arrest.
Consolidated School District 158 officials could not comment on the arrest of a Huntley High School teacher charged with a theft at the school, but police released additional information about her Sept. 14 arrest. Kimberlee Hoffmann, 42, of 1004 Kerim Court, Marengo, is charged with theft of lost or mislaid property in connection with a theft at the high school, 13719 Harmony Road, on Sept. 5. Huntley Police Deputy Chief Todd Fulton said the charge of theft of mislaid or lost property is for cases where property is found and not returned to the owner. The nights are cooler. The leaves are changing colors. Pumpkin patches are ready to go. Fall is not just in the air. It officially arrives this weekend. So celebrate the season at the Huntley Fall Fest. This year’s Fall Fest starts Friday, Sept. 28 and continues through Sunday, Sept. 30. “There’s a whole bunch of stuff everybody can come to,” Fall Fest chairman Bryant Haniszewski said. “This is a fun time for everybody.” New this year is free admission during the day on Friday and Saturday, until 5 p.m., and free admission all day Sunday. “Hopefully, more people will come because of the free admission,” Haniszewski said. “Obviously, everybody has a tighter wallet, myself included, so I understand what it’s like. Huntley police file charges against a man arrested in Lake in the Hills Wednesday.
A Huntley man found holding a hammer outside a Lake in the Hills home and charged with criminal trespass now faces a felony attempted burglary charge in Huntley, police said. Daniel W. Bockenhauer, 19, of 11606 Lori Lane, is charged with attempted residential burglary, a Class 2 felony, criminal trespass to property, a Class 4 felony and criminal damage to property, Class A misdemeanor, according to a Huntley police press release. According to police, Bockenhauer allegedly broke the basement window of a home in the 11500 block of Frederick Way in Huntley attempting to steal a computer on Sept. 8. Illinois Tollway shares facts about the project.
Did you know the Illinois Route 47 Interchange Project is the Illinois Tollway’s first “green” interchange? The project features several new green construction initiatives, including a geothermal water piping system that makes use of the Earth’s natural heat and cooling abilities, according to a Tollway release. The system will help heat and cool plaza buildings, which will also have reflective roofs and trellised vegetation for plaza buildings, the release stated. It’s one of the interesting facts about the $69 million project that will change the face of Huntley. Huntley High School's homecoming week kicked off with Powder Puff games Sunday as senior and junior girls faced off against each other. Sophomore and junior girls also played a game. The senior guys were there too, as coaches and in the pom squad.

Home sales in the seven-county metropolitan Chicago real estate market followed a familiar path in August, with more homes changing hands more quickly, according to an analysis by RE/MAX. August sales of detached and attached homes reached a combined total of 9,145 units, which is a robust 26.5 percent higher than in the same month in 2011 and the highest August sales total since 2007. The pace of sales also quickened. The average number of days that homes sold in August spent on the market before a sales contract was signed declined from 165 days a year ago to 139 days this August, the lowest market time for the metro area in any month since December 2007.
