Village reaches out to community through another social media tool.
Huntley wants you to like its Facebook page. The newly launched Facebook page has 108 likes and includes everything you’d want to know about Huntley. “It’s still new and we have a long way to go,” said Margo Griffin, business development coordinator. Huntley village staff uses social media, particularly e-news editions, to get information about the village out to residents, Griffin said. The Facebook page is the latest effort to reach out and provide information. “It’s another way to engage residents,” she said. “We’ve been hearing about other communities doing it,” Griffin said. “It’s been on our minds for a long time to do it. But, like any venture, it takes a while.” The village of Huntley’s Facebook page is set up as a business page …
Village officials also consider several intergovernmental agreements.

The club recognized its senior players Monday, thanking them for their dedication to the sport. Fourteen seniors played their last lacrosse game at the high school Monday night and their contribution was treating the sport like any other varsity sport, said club President Tony Nigro. “It’s not like a typical club,” he said. “They have really bought into the whole sport itself.” Lacrosse is not a sanctioned sport through Consolidated School District 158 so players must purchase their own equipment, uniforms and transportation to games.
