Three Huntley Marching Red Raiders have been selected by Music for All to be a member of theBands of America (BOA) Honor Band in the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade. Zoe Detlaf, Rachelle Jacobs, and Adam Sundling were selected from among hundreds of applicants across the nation to participate in this prestigious national honor band. Detlaf is a junior at Huntley High School and is the daughter of John and Deborah Detlaf. Sundling is the son of Erik and Judith Sundling and is also in his junior year. The youngest selected is sophomore Jacobs who is the daughter of Scott and Teri Jacobs. “According to the list of members, there are 14 Illinois students involved, and we are the only school with 3 students selected to participate,” said …

Chase Burkart and Emma Plansky chosen for award.

Two Huntley High School students, Chase Burkart and Emma Plansky, were selected as the Mr. Jurs/Raider Way Outstanding Students of the Month for October 2012. Both of these students exhibit qualities of the Raider Way; Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Involved. Burkart is a sophomore and is a proud member of the HHS football team. He demonstrated his leadership skills while coaching the Powder Puff team as well. In addition to being a role model in school, he volunteered his time by helping run the Sun City 5K race and assisted during the Open House at Marlow Middle School. He also recently helped establish the first annual Huntley High School Holiday Promise program where the football team donates toys and clothing to the Grafton…
