Family Fun Day took over this weekend's Farmers Market in the Huntley Square
The community came together Saturday for the weekly Farmers Market in the village square. It was Family Fun Day and kids enjoyed a ton of games, a bike parade and many moon jump things. Culvers was on hand for the super hot day to provide a little relief to the little ones who took part in the Fourth of July kids parade that went around the square. Live entertainment was on had with a performance by Westlake Community Church's teenagers about Independence Day and an Elvis look-alike. It sure was a Family Fun Day and brought out a ton of people.

Huntley's Farmers Market hosts third annual event Saturday, July 2.
Huntley’s Farmers Market is having an all-American celebration this weekend with Family Fun Day, featuring homespun events like the Around the Block parade. The parade has grown in the three years since the annual Family Fun Day started, said Barb Read, village administrator and organizer of the Farmers Market. This year, Read hopes to have more people come out to watch the parade. Children and their families are invited to come to downtown Huntley on Saturday to get materials to decorate their bikes and pets and parents can decorate strollers for the parade. Decorating starts at 10 a.m. at the Farmers Market, on Coral Street between Church and Woodstock streets in the Town Square. Decorating continues until 11:45 a.m., when the parade …

Craft fair and plants among the offerings Saturday.
It’s Farmer’s Market season and Huntley is kicking off its very own downtown market on Saturday. The market will be held from 8am to noon on Main Street. “This will be our fifth year,” said Barbara Read, Huntley manager assistant and market organizer. “We started with just a few vendors and at the peak of this season we should have about 17.” Saturday’s first Famer’s Market will feature 13 vendors and more than 14 crafters, she said. More vendors are have already signed up and will be participating in a few weeks as produce becomes available. “We not only have awesome vendors, we offer free entertainment, craft fairs on the first Saturday of the month, lots of special events and ‘theme’ days,” Read said.
