Three drivers received citations after a three-car crash Tuesday afternoon at Routes 176 and 14 in Crystal Lake.
Three people were transported to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock for treatment on Tuesday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash near Routes 176 and 14 in Crystal Lake. Crystal Lake Police Cmdr. Dan Dziewior said Robert Clish, 67, of Harvard, was driving a 2012 GMC Terrain shortly before 12:50 p.m. when he exited a private driveway east of the Route 176-14 intersection. Clish was attempting to travel east on Route 14. Clish’s vehicle collided with an eastbound 2008 GMC Denali driven by Chad Chavez, 33, of Crystal Lake and eventually a westbound 2005 Ford Freestyle driven by Christopher Otto, 37, of Crystal Lake, Dziewior stated in a release. Two people were injured, one critically, in a four car crash Friday afternoon at the intersection of Routes 31 and 176 in Crystal Lake. At about 2:55 p.m. April 19, emergency crews arrived at the intersection where four cars were involved in a collision in the northbound lanes of Route 31 on the north side of Route 176, Crystal Lake Police Cmdr. Dan Dziewior said. Paramedics transported two drivers to Centegra- Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. One driver is believed to have non life-threatening injuries, and the other was listed in critical condition, Dziewior stated in a release. The Crystal Lake firefighters and police respond to house at 1709 Moorland Lane.
Crystal Lake Police are investigating the "suspicious circumstances" surrounding the death of a Crystal Lake man following an early Sunday morning fire at 1709 Moorland Lane. Resident Dunn Mizell, 49, was found inside the home and later pronounced dead at Centegra Hospital in Woodstock, according to McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski. An autopsy will be performed Monday morning, she said. A McHenry County Sheriff's deputy reported the suspicious circumstance at the home, and Crystal Lake Police were dispatched at 7:33 a.m. April 14, to a report of a fire at a two-story house, which backs up to Glacier Ridge Elementary School on the city's south side. Crystal Lake Police have made an arrest in the case of a pin-hole camera found Thursday in the boys' athletic locker room at Crystal Lake Central High School. Luke P. Gildea, 17, of Crystal Lake, has been charged with two counts of unauthorized video recording. One count is a class 4 felony, and the second is a class 3 felony involving a victim under 18 years old, Crystal Lake Police Cmdr. Dan Dziewior stated in a press release issued late Thursday night. The Crystal Lake Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating the suspect in a robbery on Saturday at The Cash Store, 1125 South Route 31. Crystal Lake Police are searching for a man who robbed "The Cash Store" on Route 31 on Saturday afternoon. A man entered the store located at 1125 S. Route 31, near Rakow Road, at about 12:23 p.m. and demanded money, according to Crystal Lake Police Cmdr. Dan Dziewior. The alleged robber was described as an African-American male wearing a grey pull-over style hooded sweatshirt, blue denim carpenter style pants, tan work boots, black knit mask and black gloves. Park District Police and Crystal Lake Police officials were on the scene early Feb. 21, to investigate the death at the park, located at 431 Walkup Road on the north side of Crystal Lake. A fugitive wanted for criminal sexual assault, aggravated sexual abuse, and several other charges was arrested on Thursday in Madison, Wis., according to McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren. Ivan G. Hernandez-Gonzalez, 23, was listed on the Sheriff's Office Top Ten Fugitive List. He is wanted for criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, violation of order of protection, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence, theft, and leaving the scene of an accident, Nygren said in a release. A Crystal Lake man armed with a semi-automatic pistol threatened violence while in a house on Kelly Lane, resulting in a standoff with police early Saturday evening. Crystal Lake Police were called to the home in the 400 block of Kelly Lane shortly before 5 p.m., Dec. 29, in response to a domestic disturbance, according to a press release issued by Cmdr. Dan Dziewior. Kelly Lane is located on the northeast side of Crystal Lake near routes 31 and 176. While officers were enroute, telecommunicators learned one of the occupants of the home - Michael J.
