Crystal Lake Central student Luke Patrick Gildea has been released on a $15,000 bail.
A Crystal Lake Central High School student accused of planting a camera in a boy's locker room is out on bail following a court appearance Friday, according to the Northwest Herald. The Northwest Herald reports a $15,000 bond was set for Luke Patrick Gildea, 17, of Crystal Lake, who is accused of videotaping "subjects entering and exiting the shower," according to the criminal complaint. Gildea is a student at the school, which is located at 45 West Franklin Street in Crystal Lake. Gildea faces two felony counts of unauthorized videotaping, according to online court records. Crystal Lake Police have made an arrest in the case of a pin-hole camera found Thursday in the boys' athletic locker room at Crystal Lake Central High School. Luke P. Gildea, 17, of Crystal Lake, has been charged with two counts of unauthorized video recording. One count is a class 4 felony, and the second is a class 3 felony involving a victim under 18 years old, Crystal Lake Police Cmdr. Dan Dziewior stated in a press release issued late Thursday night. The Tiger Varsity Dance Team won the IHSA Class 2 A State Championship on Saturday in Bloomington.
UPDATE: Saturday, Jan. 26, 10 p.m. The Crystal Lake Central Varsity Dance Team won the Class 2A State Dance Championship on Saturday, at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington. The team had danced its way into the finals after advancing from the preliminary round on Friday. Crystal Lake Central won the Class 2A title with a score of 90.32, slightly edging out Lake Forest, which had a score of 89.88, according to the IHSA results page. Cary-Grove Trojans football team on Saturday afternoon beat rivals Crystal Lake Central Tigers in a close quarterfinals game, 7-0.
The Cary-Grove Trojans will be advancing in the Illinois High School Association's varsity football playoffs. In a very close game on Saturday afternoon in Cary, the Trojans beat cross-district rival, the Crystal Lake Central Tigers, 7-0. Fans from both schools packed the spectator stands, and many onlookers watched from outside the field. The Trojans and Tigers were neck and neck most of the game. A couple turnovers in the fourth quarter presented the Tigers with an opportunity to tie it up, but they were unable to advance the ball. The Trojans will play next weekend in Lake Forest for a semifinal game. Congratulations to the Trojans, and congratulations to the Tigers on a great season!
