Newt Gingrich to Headline Sheriff Candidate Bill Prim's Fundraiser

Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and his wife will headline a fundraiser dinner for Prim in Woodstock on Feb. 18.

  Bill Prim, a Republican candidate for McHenry County Sheriff, on Friday announced that Republican Newt Gringrich and his wife, Callista, will headline a fundraiser dinner for Prim on Feb. 18, at Bull Valley Country Club in Woodstock, according to the McHenry County Blog. Prim, a former Des Plaines Police commander, already is preparing for the March 2014 Republican primary election. Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, will discuss current political issues at the fundraiser, the McHenry County Blog reports. A longtime Cary resident, Prim recently retired from the Des Plaines Police Department after a 27-year career. More information about Prim can be found on the Prim for Sheriff webpage.

Callista Gingrich, wife of Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, visited The Goddard School in Lake in the Hills on Thursday, where she read from her book, "Sweet Land of Liberty."

The Goddard School in Lake in the Hills was abuzz with excitement Thursday morning over the visit of Callista Gingrich, wife of Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.  Callista Gingrich was greeted with excited whispers from children who told their friends: "that's her" and "she's here." After a tour of the school, 4561 Princeton Lane, a class of 4- and 5-year-old students sang Our Country Tis of Thee to Gingrich. "That was the most beautiful rendition of that song," Gingrich told the class. Gingrich read to the class from the book she authored, Sweet Land of Liberty. She was accompanied by the mascot of the main character of her book, Ellis the Elephant, and security personnel hired by the Gingrich campaign to protect Callista …

Lake in the Hills Readies for Gingrich Visits

Newt Gingrich is slated to speak at a rally on private land at 8585 Pyott Road at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. His wife, Callista Gingrich, will be reading a book she authored in a private event at the Goddard School in Lake in the Hills this morning.

After tough primary losses earlier this week, and just days before the Illinois primary election, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, and his wife, Callista Gingrich, will make campaign stops Thursday in Lake in the Hills.  Gingrich and his wife have planned several stops in Illinois for March 14 and March 15.  Earlier this week, Gingrich finished second in primaries in Mississippi and Alabama behind Rick Santorum. Frontrunner Mitt Romney finished third in both states. Santorum has stops planned in Arlington Heights on Friday and Romney is expected to spend the night of the state's primary election, March 20, near Wheaton, according to media reports.
