New Facility Designed to Help Disabled Live Independently

Deer Path Supported Living facility to open in the next year.

Construction is expected to start this spring on a 128-bed living facility for physically disabled adults and seniors, a population that is currently under-served within McHenry County, in Regency Square. “The market analysis shows an enormous unmet need for quality housing for this group,” said Zach Leonard of Bravo Properties LLC. “There are other types of housing around but not nearly enough to meet the needs of this population. This particular facility creates a sense of independence while providing supportive services so they don’t feel institutionalized. Developer Talks of Plans to Build Senior Complex

Complex to include assisted living and nursing home facility.

A Northfield-based company seeking to build an assisted living and nursing home complex on 20 acres west of Route 47 got a good reception Thursday from village trustees. Vektor Development LLC purchased the property from Pulte Homes in 2007 and sought the board's input this week on its plan to build an assisted living and nursing home campus on 12.04 acres. The complex would include a three-story building with 81 units for assisted living and a single story building with 77 units for a nursing home. A 29,910 square foot building _ that would house administrative offices and rehabilitative services _ would be built between the two residential buildings, said Wayne C.
