Advocate Health Care Offers Free Flu Shots for Food

Advocate Health Care Centers hold flu clinics combined with food drive.

  As you gear up for the cool weather, you must also prepare for the impending flu season. Each year hundreds of thousands of Americans are hospitalized for the influenza virus. Depending on the severity of the virus each season, influenza may result in as many as 50,000 deaths per year.  In an effort to mitigate the impact of the flu and support local community food banks, Advocate Health Care is offering “Free Flu Shots for Food” at several locations Saturday, October 20 and Sunday October 21.  Every person, 18 years or older, who brings a non-perishable food item to one of the participating Immediate Care Centers will receive a FREE flu shot - $25 value (while supplies last.) All food items will be donated to local community food banks …
