The incredible photos and information are still coming in from Japan, as the country tries to stabilize after being hit with a record 8.9-magnitude earthquake and the resulting tsunami.

To help those impacted by the Japan earthquakes, here are a few organizations and resources. The list was compiled by Lake in the Hills Patch editor Amie Schaenzer:

- The Red Cross is organizing efforts to help. You can donate to the effort by visiting the Red Cross's donation website or by texting REDCROSS to 90999, which will in turn donate $10, according to a Huffington Post article.
- Save the Children, the world's leading independent organization for children
- Global Giving has set up a fund-raising effort that has raised thousands of dollars so far. Donors can choose to give a one-time or recurring donation of anywhere between $25 and $1,000.
- The Google Person Finder helps locate loved ones in Japan. The link to that site is: http://japan.person-finder.appspot.com/?lang=en.
