'Friends with a Reason' to Relay

Friends with a reason to walk in Relay for Life

We are happy to announce that Gina Jayko and her team, Friends with a Reason, are returning to Relay for Life of Huntley for a 4th year.

Gina has also played a huge role on the planning committee since 2009.   We are greatful to her for her hard work and dedication to this cause.

Gina has shared her personal reason to Relay.

"The last thirteen years I have participated in the Relay for Life.  This is a unique, challenging, and rewarding way to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

I first walked after my mom died.  I was moved by what occurred that night. Today I also walk in honor of both my father and mother in law, my brother and sister in law, and several friends. Every day I meet new people and I discover what an impact cancer has on people?s lives.  I've always known how it affected my family, and lately I see it affects others in a worse way.  This is why I walk.

I feel that it is my job to help raise money for this disease.  Cancer is a word that is becoming too familiar in my life.  I would appreciate it if you could help support me as I walk to honor these people.  There is no such thing as a small donation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.  I also thank you in advance for your support.  If you aren't able to make a donation, please continue to pray for a cure for this horrible disease.

Thank you & God bless you,

Dream BIG, Hope BIG, Relay BIG
