Community Cancer Walk is Approaching

Please join us!

Our community event needs your help in the fight against cancer.    Relay for Life of Huntley is a walk that is done on a track on the Huntley Park District grounds. Our 2013 event is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. on June 14.

For those of you unfamiliar with Relay for Life, it is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event where teams of people and individuals come together and walk throughout the night.   Teams are made up of friends, family, co-workers, businesses, etc. and the idea is that someone from each team would be walking on the track at any given time throughout this 12 hour event.

This year, we are doing a Luau theme at Relay.  We are encouraging our teams to decorate their campsites to this theme.  The planning committee is pulling together an agenda of activities for participants and community attendees during this event.  Some of the activities and entertainment include:

I am happy to announce that Roy Rankin will be returning as our emcee for the event too!

We currently have 14 teams registered with a total of 59 participants.  We're almost half way to our team goal and are hoping to exceed 220 participants this year.  To do that, we need help from members of our community and the surrounding communities who are also part of our Huntley Relay for Life walk.   Please share our Relay info with your networks to help us in building awareness and participation in our event.
