Throughout the season, the village of Huntley profiles vendors through its E-news weekly newsletter. Here, The Growing Scene, Inc. is introduced:

The Growing Scene, Inc. has been a lifetime dream for Kathleen Carr.  Kathleen began her business at the young age of 11 by growing and selling vegetables at the same family location.  Kathleen then pursued her educational goals, earning an Agricultural Sciences degree from Texas A&M University.  She taught horticulture and worked for three of the most well respected nurseries in the Midwest.  Finally, in 1996, with the help of her husband Chris, Kathi's dream became a reality with the opening of The Growing Scene, Inc. With the continued support of Chris and her three children, the business has grown to include a Garden Center, Landscaping Company and Farm Stand.  Through the Huntley Farmer's Market, her daughters, Mary and Sarah, have developed a love of helping customers, and have learned the value of hard work and the importance of honesty and integrity.  The Carr family looks forward to seeing you at this week's market.
