BritBeat Among Featured Performs in Summer Concert in the Park

The Huntley Park District is once again holding the series for families to enjoy this summer.

 

BritBeat, a popular Beatles tribute band that recently wrapped up performances in Las Vegas, will be heading back to Huntley this summer as part of the Huntley Park District’s Summer Concert in the Park series.

Concerts are held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Deicke Park, on Route 47. Families can bring blankets, chairs and picnic baskets to the park and catch a live concert. The rain site is Cosman Theater, 12015 Mill St.

This summer’s series kicks off Tuesday, June 19 with the Mary J. Harris Trio, a jazz band that offers a mix of new and old tunes. Lead singer, Mary J. Harris was born, raised and musically training in the Chicago area. The trio is sponsored by the Huntley Senior Citizen’s Club.

BritBeat performs Tuesday, July 17. The band has the look, the sound, the mannerisms, the accents, costumes and vocal harmonies of the Beatles. BritBeat performs songs from different points of the Beatles’ career.  American Community Bank is the sponsor. The band gets rave reviews and has performed with Pete Best, the original drummer for the Beatles.

Come dance under the stars with The Ocean Blu Big Band on Tuesday, Aug. 14. The 18-piece ensemble swing and dance band will provide the music and professional swing dancers will be giving dancing lessons and will encourage everyone to head out to the front of the stage and dance.  The band is sponsored by Chiro One.
