A look at some top stories and key games this week for the local teams

It has been a busy week for the local prep teams, here's a look at some top stories from the past week and for this week

Huge Win: Huntley's win over Cary-Grove last Tuesday broke the 59-game winning streak for the Trojans to keep the Red Raiders undefeated as Sam Boesch had 16 kills to pace Huntley. This is a landmark win for a team that had high expectations for the 2011 season with a senior-laden team and at this point, the Red Raiders have met those expectations.

School Record: The Red Raiders are also boasting a very impressive boys golf team right now as freshman Ryan Craig shot a 6-under par 65 on Saturday at the Fran Noyes Invitational in Genoa. The tournament is played with the Stableford points system and Craig's 50 points were the most ever scored in the 15 years of the tournament.

Rolling Along: With their 5-0 start, the Jacobs football team is heading towards a school record for wins. The school record for wins in a season is 9 by the 1999 team that advanced to the second round of the playoffs with a eight-win season in 1979 being the second-highest. With games against Huntley and Dundee-Crown ahead who have combined for one win this season, it appears likely the Golden Eagles will get to at least 7 wins before playoff play begins.
