Huntley Lacrosse Club to Hold Signups and Informational Meeting

The Huntley Raiders Lacrosse Club will be holding 2012 team signups and a parent information meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at Marlow Middle School, 9625 Haligus Road in Lake in the Hills.

The Huntley Lacrosse club is in its fifth year at Huntley High School and the club plays junior varsity and varsity games against other schools from the Fox Valley Conference and from all over the Chicago area.

In 2012, the varsity team will be coached by two-time Illinois Lacrosse Coach of the Year and two-time state champion coach Phil Ryan.

“We are very fortunate to have Phil Ryan as our head coach this year,” said Raiders Lacrosse Club President Tony Nigro.

“He has been a successful player and coach at all levels of the game and our players will benefit tremendously from his skills and knowledge of the sport.”

Experienced players as well as those who are new to the sport are encouraged to attend the informational meeting along with a parent.

New jersey numbers will be available on a first come, first served basis, and spirit wear and equipment vendors will be on site. For those ready to make a commitment to the team, initial registration fees and payments for spirit wear and equipment will be collected at this meeting.

“Whether they are experienced lacrosse players or are just curious about lacrosse, we welcome this year’s 8th-11th graders to join our winning teams,” said Nigro. “Our club is known in northern Illinois as a premier lacrosse organization, and we believe 2012 will be our most successful year yet.”
