Huntley High School Girls Basketball to Battle in State Semifinals

The team will take on Rolling Meadows High School on Friday in the class 4A semifinals.

The Huntley girls basketball team will be heading to the state finals at Illinois State University in Normal this weekend. 

The Red Raiders will take on the Rolling Meadows girls basketball team in the Class 4A semifinals at 6:30 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois High School Association website. The tournament will wrap up on Saturday with the 4A finals.

The Huntley girls cinched their first trip to state in the school's history after winning 47-43 against Wheaton Warrenville South in the Dundee-Crown Supersectional this past Monday, according to the Northwest Herald.

The win for Huntley (29-6) ended a 15-game winning streak for Wheaton (29-4), according to the Daily Herald.

For those interested in watching the girls compete at state, tickets are available for $10 per session in the Huntley High School athletic office, door 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Huntley High School website.

A fan bus will be available for both days of the state tournament for $10. The bus will leave on Friday at 3 p.m. from Huntley High School and return around 11 p.m. The Saturday bus will leave at 3 p.m., according to the HHS website.
