Two Huntley High Students Receive Jurs/Raider Way Award
Junior Jenna Strasser and senior Caleb Walker were selected as Jurs/Raider Way Outstanding Students of the Month as 2011-2012 school year winded down.
Each month faculty members at Huntley High School have the privilege of nominating students to be the recipient of the Jurs/Raider Way Outstanding Student of the Month Award. Students nominated exhibit the qualities of the Red Raider Way: Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Involved.
Huntley High School junior Jenna Strasser is described as a creative and talented artist. She is a dedicated student who always goes the extra mile in her assignments.

Strasser has been on the Pom Squad all three years and has wonderful school spirit. She is a great Link Crew Leader who brings a lot of energy to the freshmen classrooms. As a member of the Community Service Club, Strasser has already earned all of the hours needed to receive her Silver Cord. She was nominated by teacher Valerie Lindquist.
Teacher Pat Olson-McGee describes Huntley High School senior Caleb Walker as a great volunteer who learned from an early age that volunteering and helping others is a natural state of life. Walker has been involved in volunteer projects as a scout, with his church youth group, and most recently with grade school students at Leggee Elementary School in Huntley.

He is also helpful around his neighborhood with advice and hands on assistance repairing and restoring cars. Walker has a 1976 Camaro that he and his father have completely restored. In addition to being a good student, Walker has started a college career while in high school through MCC classes and he works three jobs. He does IT work at Associates in Psychiatry, works at Classic Cars of McHenry County - a car restoration business and he teaches guitar lessons. In addition, he plays in a band that performs locally.
