McHenry County College Awards Scholarships to 2 Huntley High Students

Students receive Presidential Talent Scholarship, one of MCC's most prestigious scholarships.

 

Two Huntley High School graduates, Samantha Skowronski and Natasha Tynczuk, are heading to McHenry County College this fall on a prestigious scholarship, the Presidential Talent Scholarship.

Eight area 2012 high school graduates have been selected to receive a 60-credit hour scholarship to attend McHenry County College under the scholarship program.

The Presidential Talent Scholarship is awarded each year to qualified high school seniors based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities and community involvement. The recipients along with Skowronski and Tynczuk are: David Bernal, Benjamin R. Bradley, and Megan Schaffter, all of Woodstock North High School; Taylor Carter and Erin Jauch, both of Crystal Lake Central High School and Christopher Godsted of Crystal Lake South High School.

Three additional 2012 high school graduates have been selected to receive a 60-credit scholarship to attend McHenry County College under the MCC Founding Faculty Scholarship program. The recipents are: Joseph Bilodeau of Crystal Lake South High School, Fernando Nuno of Prairie Ridge High School and Samantha Sonneman of Crystal Lake Central High School.

The MCC Founding Faculty Scholarship is awarded in recognition of the more than 30 years’ worth of contributions of retired founding faculty of McHenry County College. 

Through the generosity of community donors, many other scholarship opportunities are offered by the Friends of McHenry County College Foundation, including awards for student athletes, those entering healthcare or nursing, fire science, early childhood education, welding, and scholarships for women.
