HHS’s Jurs/Raider Way Outstanding Students of October

Chase Burkart and Emma Plansky chosen for award.

Two Huntley High School students,  Chase Burkart and Emma Plansky, were selected as the Mr. Jurs/Raider Way Outstanding Students of the Month for October 2012.

Both of these students exhibit qualities of the Raider Way; Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Involved.

Burkart is a sophomore and is a proud member of the HHS football team. He demonstrated his leadership skills while coaching the Powder Puff team as well.  In addition to being a role model in school, he volunteered his time by helping run the Sun City 5K race and assisted during the Open House at Marlow Middle School.

He also recently helped establish the first annual Huntley High School Holiday Promise program where the football team donates toys and clothing to the Grafton Food Pantry

Plansky, a junior, is a member of Link Crew and she takes HHS freshmen under her wing and mentors them on important topics such as resisting drugs and how to successfully handle bullying. She takes this job very seriously and is a wonderful role model.

She is a member of the HHS Swim team and volunteers by helping younger kids involved with the Stingray swim team. Additionally, she volunteers daily with administrative duties in the principal’s office.
