HHS Online Newspaper Named as Finalist in Prestigious Award

HuntleyVoice.com named as Pacemaker finalist.

 

The editors and staff of HuntleyVoice.com, Huntley High School’s online newspaper, were recently named a national Pacemaker finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA).

Under the leadership of online editor, Michael Geheren, HuntleyVoice.com was one of two school sites in the state and one of 31 school sites nationally to be  named as a finalist for this prestigious award.

The NSPA Online Pacemaker contest recognizes high school publication websites. Entries are judged based on content, design, writing and editing, rich media and breaking news.

“I’m so proud of these kids… truly an amazing achievement, especially given that is our first year online”, HuntleyVoice.com advisor Dennis Brown said.

Geheren and Brown will attend the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention on April 14 in Seattle, Wa., at which time the Pacemaker winners will be announced.
