D-300 Teachers on Strike

Are you people surprised? As I said earlier the GREED of the teachers of D300 comes before the students and taxpayers. They care about money not students.They are not in this because they love their jobs or students. They are in it for a short work year with outlandish pay and benefits.Do all you taxpayers have these benefits and guaranteed large pensions and outlandish raises before retireing? I didn't think so.

Way to go Bill!!!! We need President Reagan with the air traffic controllers. We need to hire replacement teachers. Should be lucky they have a job a lot of people don't.
Money is what it boils down to not the students.

I have 2 sons who attend schools in 300 (DMS)...I say FIRE THEM ALL!!!! Throw out the union contracts that have BANKRUPT this country and hire people who love to teach and educate our children...not just looking out for themselves. I pray what happened to the greedy blood-sucking union strikers from Hostess happens here with these overpaid and underperforming teachers!!! They grade our children and who grades them???????????

What a genius idea Steve. It will be so easy to just fire them all and go through the hiring process for over a thousand new teachers. That doesn't take long, right? All of them deserve to be fired because they are all overpaid and they all underperform. There is not one single good teacher in the entire district. You are right. We can so easily get a new group of great, overachieving teachers who will agree to everything the board wants. Its so simple. Why hasn't anyone else thought of that? You are seriously a genius.

While you can disagree with Steve's.....delivery... you can't deny the motive behind it. Having even just a month off of work and making wages comparable to people who don't enjoy that luxury seems an injustice. Even disregarding that, tenure is insane. How something so ridiculous could possibly become a norm is troubling. What percentage of other workers have the kind of job security tenure offers? Being a student who has recently graduated college, now working in a school (in a position that it is impossible to get tenure in), it's clear as day that there are too many ungrateful teachers who half-ass their jobs because they can. There are plenty of passionate, young teachers up to their necks in student loans who could use the jobs. Am I saying that younger teachers are better than older ones? No. But they sure have potential to outperform plenty of tenured sloths who lack the drive to motivate and work with students.

Fired all the asshole that our on our board because thats why our town is broke make our kids suffer more quit telling lies to parents get off your horse an start doing something for the parents an kids thay don't need to suffer anymore
