3rd Quarter Surge Lifts Raiders Past Wolves

Huntley boys basketball win another Tuesday night - this time against Prairie Ridge High School, in Crystal Lake.

 

The Huntley Red Raiders boys varsity basketball team improved to 18-2 overall and 7-0 in the Fox Valley Conference Valley Division with a 56-43 road victory over Prairie Ridge on Tuesday night.

The Wolves came out with fire and intensity and took a 12-10 lead after one period. The second quarter saw 9 ties, or lead changes as both teams continued to battle hard for every bucket. The score was tied at 21 heading into halftime.

Huntley came out in the third quarter and matched their first half point total as they outscored PR 21-7 in the quarter to take a 42-28 lead. Huntley opened the quarter with an 11-0 run including 3 straight 3 point plays.

The Wolves could get no closer than 7 the rest of the way.

Senior Troy Miller and Sophomore Amanze Egekeze led the Raiders with 13 points each with Egekeze netting 11 of his in the second half.

Miller was 6 for 6 from the line.

Senior Justin Frederick was also in double figures with 10 points, and junior Bryce Only finished with 9.
