Report: Widow Says County 'Pushed' Her Husband

Officials reportedly are investigating the cause of William Scardamaglia's death on Wednesday.

The widow of the Kane County employee that died Wednesday plowing roads during the blizzard has said the county "pushed" her husband and knew about his existing heart condition, according to a Feb. 4 article in the Kane County Chronicle.

Suzanne Scardamaglia, of St. Charles Township, reportedly said that her husband,William Scardamaglia, had developed a heart condition in 2009. He had been plowing roads since the early morning on Tuesday when he died on Wednesday.

"I had not seen him since Monday night," Scardamaglia told the Chronicle. He was not supposed to be out there that long. They knew the conditions of what he was not supposed to be doing. But the county pushed it."
