Quinn to Speak This Weekend in Huntley

The governor will speak at an annual fund-raising event for the Democratic Party of McHenry County.

Gov. Pat Quinn will speak this Saturday evening at the 8th Annual Thomas Jefferson Dinner in Huntley, which is an annual fund-raising event for the Democratic Party of McHenry County. 

The event will kick-off at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Sun City Prairie Lodge, 12880 Del Webb Boulevard in Huntley. 

“It will be a great evening as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Illinois granting women the right to vote for president. We are also honoring the contributions of local women to our democracy,” said Michael Bissett, the party chair for the McHenry County chapter. “Having Governor Quinn join us amplifies the excitement and anticipation for our annual event.”

Quinn's appearance marks the first time the ggovernor has attended the event. Past participants have included Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and former Illinois Congresswoman Melissa Bean.

The event opens with a cocktail hour and dinner followed by a keynote address from Quinn and the annual awards presentations.
