There’s an Irish blessing that says “may your pockets be heavy and your heart be light, May good luck pursue you each morning and night," according to The Quote Garden website.
A lucky winner may have heavy pockets and a light heart thanks to the $200 million plus Powerball jackpot up for grabs this weekend.
The Powerball jackpot rolled over this week and stands at $216 million, Illinois Lottery officials said Thursday. The next drawing is Saturday, March 16.
The current jackpot has a cash value of $132.8 million and $92.9 million after taxes, lottery officials said.
Comedian and TV personality Andy Richter stars in a new multi-media ad campaign. He portrays Gil Mitchell, an eccentric news anchor who lets Illinoisans know when there’s a huge jackpot. The ads will run anytime the jackpot exceeds $100 million.
Saturday’s drawing will be held at 9:50 p.m.
The Lottery also has a special St. Patrick’s Day Millionaire Raffle where it will give four winners $1 million each. Five tickets are worth $100,000. Tickets cost $20 a piece, and the drawing will be held on Sunday, March 17.
There were 101,455 tickets available as of Thursday evening.
