Park District Seeks Voter Approval on Indoor Turf Facility

The Huntley Park District will seek voter approval next March for a $18.75 million construction bond for a new indoor, artificial turf facility, which will also include bocce ball and two indoor soccer fields, west of Deicke Park of Route 47, according to the Daily Herald.

Even if the voters approve the bond, taxes are expected to go down "with restructuring of current bonds," and if they don't approve the bond, they could see their taxes decrease, on average, $125 per year, according to the article. The Daily Herald reports there would be a rubberized walking track around the 250-foot-by 250-foot turf field in the proposed facility.

A referendum on the new facility is expected to appear on the March 18 ballot.
