Lots of Delays on Route 47 This Week

The Illinois Department of Transportation releases its list of projects.

Construction crews will be paving the east side of Route 47 throughout this week.

The paving id being done from the south end of the project and northward to Main Street, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation’s weekly update.

“Watch for single lane shutdowns, flaggers directing traffic and extreme delays. Please add extra time into your travel plans,” IDOT said.

There is also excavating work being done on Main Street, east of Route 47 that will compound the traffic headaches. Motorists can expect lengthy delays on that part of the project, too.

Dean Street will be closed through May 31. There are signs posted and Dean Street traffic is detoured to Mill Street.

IDOT crews will continue working on sanitary sewers and water mains on the east side of Route 47 between Main and Kenneth streets. Driveways may be blocked temporarily.

Further north, crews will be installing new streetlights on the west side of Route 47 between Algonquin and Reed Roads so look out for flaggers

Finally, watch for new lane configurations at Route 47 and and Kreutzer Road.
