Kreutzer Road Closed, Use Alternate Route

If you use Kreutzer Road as a way to get around Route 47 construction, you’d better find a new route for this week.

Kreutzer Road will be closed for five days starting today as the Union Pacific Railroad does repairs to the railroad crossing.

officials are advising motorists to use alternate routes as a result of the closure.

Detours will be posted.

Meanwhile, construction on Route 47 continues.

This week, crews will continue pouring small areas of concrete at various sites along the construction route and flaggers will be present, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Be on alert for new traffic patters on Route 47 between the southern and northern limits of the construction zone, IDOT said.
