“This is one of the most exciting and busiest times of the year for the Postal Service, and select post offices will be open on Sunday, December 9 and 16 to make shopping and shipping easier,” Central Illinois District Manager, Peter Allen said.

As the “Official Shipper” of the holidays, the U.S. Postal Service is ready for The Best Holiday Ever, whether you’re sending a card or looking to purchase a unique gift, such as beautiful new holiday ornaments, these items and more can be bought and mailed in one simple trip to the Post Office.

The post office has one tip: the simpler way to ship all year round is priority mail flat rate shipping.  If it fits, it ships to any state for a low flat rate starting at $4.95 for a flat rate envelope and $5.20 for a small flat rate box. The popular priority mail flat rate boxes virtually eliminate the need for a scale to weigh the package.  And, flat rate shipping simplifies gift returns.
