While the Route 47 construction project is expected to last all summer, progress is being made. This week, crews will install asphalt on Main Street, east of Route 47, the Illinois Department of Transportation reports.

IDOT’s weekly construction update advises motorists to watch for flaggers in that area and expect delays.

Other work scheduled: sanitary sewers and water mains on the east side of Route 47 between Main and Kenneth streets. Driveways may be blocked temporarily as crews do the work but will be restored in a timely manner, according to IDOT.
