Centegra Starting Review Process for Huntley Hospital

Centegra hopes to break ground for Centegra-Huntley Hospital in October.

Centegra Health System is hoping to break ground on its Huntley Hospital in October and is starting the formal process of having its project reviewed by the village.

Huntley’s village board and plan commission will have a join meeting Thursday, Feb. 7 where Centegra officials will provide preliminary information on the scope of the project, what approval and permits will be required and the determine how it will work with the village through the approval process, according to a village press release.

While Centegra is not at the stage of unveiling its architectural plans, officials intent to blend the new hospital’s design with the ambulatory care mall and Centegra Health Bridge adjacent to the proposed hospital site on Haligus and Reed Road.

The building would also have a helipad for transferring critical need patients.

Per the site layout, the main entrance to the hospital would face Haligus Road. The emergency department (ED) would face south towards Health Bridge, the release stated.

Thursday’s meeting will be held 7 p.m. in the village boardroom, 10987 Mail St., Huntley. Public informational meetings for the Centegra hospital project are scheduled for the following dates and will be held in the village board room:

  • 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 19
  • 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 6

All residents interested in learning more about the project are encouraged to attend.
