Be Alert in Route 47 Construction Zone

Work planned this week includes grinding pavement.

Construction crews will be grinding pavement on east Main Street _ between Woodstock Street and the railroad tracks _the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

The work is expected to take place this week so there will be delays, according to IDOT’s weekly Route 47 construction update.

Pavement removal along the west side of Route 47, between Main Street and Algonquin Road, has begun allowing for crews to start working on sewer installation in that area, IDOT stated.

IDOT wants drivers to pay attention to new traffic patterns placed on Route 47 at the southern and northern end of the construction corridor. Remain alert at all times as you drive through the construction zone, IDOT advises.

Finally, new temporary entrances to businesses located east and west of Route 47 between Main Street and Reed Road have been erected.
