Two Men Arrested for Car Burglaries in Port Barrington

Jordan R. Grizzel and Brett Rich, both 18 of Port Barrington, were arrested and are accused of burglarizing cars.





Two men have been arrested for alleged car burglaries in the Port Barrington area. 

Jordan R. Grizzel, 18, of Port Barrington, and Brett Rich, 18, also of Port Barrington, were arrested and each were charged with burglary (Class 2 felony), theft (Class A misdemeanor) and criminal trespassing (Class A misdemeanor), according to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. 

During the early morning hours of July 20, a Port Barrington resident contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report two suspicious people were on his property near his vehicles. 

The homeowner provided the Sheriff’s Office with a description of the 
men, and Sheriff’s deputies located them in the area.

During follow-up investigation, deputies discovered Grizzel and Rich had numerous stolen items in their possession, the Sheriff's news release stated. 

Bond for Grizzel was set at $25,000. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 20.
Bond for Rich was set at $45,000. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 19, the sheriff's release states. 

Undersheriff Andrew Zinke reminds residents to lock doors on their cars and homes to help prevent crimes from occurring. Residents are also encouraged to be alert of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to their respective police agency, according to the sheriff's office.
