Police: Man in Critical Condition Following Motorcycle Crash

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, which occurred in unincorporated Harvard early Sunday.

A 49-year-old Harvard man was critically injured early Sunday in a motorcycle crash. 

Jay W. York was traveling south in the 7600 block of Lawrence Road in unincorporated Harvard about 1:40 a.m. on Sunday when police said he drove his 1993 Harley Davidson into the southbound ditch and was ejected from his motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the news release. 

Harvard Fire Protection District responded and Flight For Life responded to the crash. York was transported York to Rockford Memorial Hospital for medical treatment, where he was listed in critical condition. 

York was cited for driving while under the influence following the crash.
