Police Blotter: Vandals Spray Paint Property

Huntley police release reports.

Vandals used red spray paint to tag items and property around town last week, Huntley police said.

Police received three reports on June 7 involving criminal defacement. The first report stated someone spray painted a sign at the intersection of Douglas Street and Ruth Road, police said.

A second report came from a resident in the 10700 block of Capitol Lane who found a garage door spray painted, police said.

The third report involved vandalism at a park in the 10800 block of Allegheny Pass.  The bathrooms were spray painted with red spray paint, according to reports.

Police did not release any information on possible suspects.

In other reports released this week:

• A 16-year-old male from Lake in the Hills, Ill., was charged June 16 with possession of tobacco by a minor, police said. The juvenile was released to his parents with a July 11 McHenry County court date.

• A business in the 12300 block of Route 47 reported a retail theft, in which a laptop computer was stolen June 6, according to reports.

• Michael E. Nowakowski, 30, of 188 Timber Trails Blvd., Gilberts, was arrested June 6 on an outstanding Kane County warrant. He also was charged with possession of a fraudulent registration sticker, police said. He also was cited with display of expired registration, no valid driver’s license and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, reports stated. Nowakowski posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of July 15 and a Kane County court date of July 18.

• A criminal trespass to motor vehicle was reported June 6 in the 11700 block of Woodcreek Drive, according to reports. A witness saw three male juveniles enter the unlocked vehicle.
