Police Blotter: Firearm Stolen in Car Burglary

Huntley police release reports.

Huntley police are investigating a car burglary that occurred last week where a suspect stole a firearm, according to reports.

Someone broke into a vehicle parked in the 11800 block of Main Street on May 23, police said. A firearm, camera and cash were stolen. Police did not release details on the type of gun taken.

• Benjamin J. Chruscinski, 21, of 17501 Harvest Hill, Orland Park, was arrested May 23 on two counts of domestic battery, two counts of battery, criminal damage to property and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

• A burglary report was taken in the 10600 block of Carl Drive, where items were stolen from a shed on the property, police said. The report was filed May 23.

• A 15-year-old Huntley girl was charged with theft at Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road, on May 23, reports stated. Police did not release any details of the arrest. She was released to her family and will be petitioned to juvenile court.

• John C. Huebner Jr., 31, of 306 Rand Road, Lakemoor, was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended and use of a wireless phone in a construction zone on May 23, police said. Huebner posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of June 17.

• A 17-year-old Algonquin man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident May 25, reports stated. The juvenile posted bond and was released with a court date.

• Several incidents were reported at Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road, last week. The first was a May 25 criminal damage report in which a door was damaged, police said. The next day, an iPod touch was stolen, according to reports.

• A criminal trespass to property report was taken in the 10800 block of Allegheny Pass. Someone entered an open garage on May 27, police said.

• Someone spray-painted the portable toilets at Ruth Park, in the Northbridge subdivision, police said. The vandalism was discovered May 27.

• Helen A. Wisniewski, 74, of 10539 Lansdale, Huntley, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and was cited with improper lane use and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident on May 27, police said. Wisniewski posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of June 24.
