Police Arrest Huntley Man on Drug Charge

An 18-year-old Huntley man faces a drug charge after police got a tip that he was carrying a controlled substance in school, according to reports.

Huntley High School student Matthew S. Zeis, of 8930 Disbrow Street, was allegedly carrying two Oxycodone pills, police said.

Zeis was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony for possession of controlled on April 5, according to reports.

In other reports released this week:

-A fraud report was taken in the 11500 block of Fitzgerald Street on April 4. The victim states fraudulent charges were made to her debit card, police said.

-Someone stole a large quantity of packaged beverages from a business in the 13200 block of Village Green Drive on April 5, according to reports. An unknown man, in his late 20s wearing a black hat, hooded sweatshirt and black pants, took a large number of Red Bull Energy drink and Mountain Dew from a store display, reports stated.

-A 17-year-old male from Huntley was arrested on an outstanding McHenry County warrant April 6, police said.  The juvenile was transported to McHenry County jail to await bond call.

-An iPhone 3GS was stolen from the locker room at Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road, on March 17 and reported last week.

-A Huntley man filed an identity theft report April 6 and told police someone has been using his social security number. No further information was released.

-Jonathan G. Grant, 28, of Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding DeKalb County warrant and was cited for improper passing on the shoulder and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle April 6, police said. Grant was turned over the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office.

-Jennifer M. Cantu, 36, of 11609 Daniel Lane, Apt. #D, Huntley, was arrested on April 6 on an outstanding McHenry County warrant, reports stated. Cantu posted bond and was released with a McHenry County court date of April 29.

-A 16-year-old Huntley man was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident on April 6, police said. The juvenile posted bond and was released to his mother.
