I'm not surprised. I was coming back from Chicago on Hwy 12 and was almost demolished twice before finally making it home a little after 1pm. The reason? The roads were extremely slick and icy and I DIDN'T SEE A SINGLE TRUCK OUT SANDING OR SALTING THE HIGHWAY FROM CHICAGO UNTIL I SAW ONE - JUST ONE! - AT THE CORNER OF 12 AND BIG HOLLOW ROAD. I mean, COME ON! The main routes like 12 should have had road crews out with salt and sand. But, nope, it is more cost effective to let people get KILLED than to put trucks out to make the roads safe to drive on. That person who was killed Sunday afternoon? That death is due to road crews sitting on their hands instead of sitting in the seats of their trucks, keeping the roads safe to drive.
