McHenry Sheriff's Deputies Seize Wild Cannabis Grow Discovered in Unincorporated Marengo

The 656 cannabis plants had a street value of $6,500 if harvested, authorities said.

McHenry County Sheriff’s deputies seized 656 marijuana plants from a field in unincorporated Marengo this week in what is described as a wild cannabis grow, authorities said.

A property owner in the 20000 block of Anthony Road discovered the plants on July 16 and contacted the sheriff’s office, according to a release. Deputies responded and determined it was a wild cannabis grow and not the result of an organized cultivation, the release stated.
