McHenry County Sheriff Arrest Two Gang Members on Drug Charges

Sheriff's Narcotics Unit conducts undercover investigation into drug sales throughout the county and nab men with $15,000 worth of cocaine.

 

Two gang members and a gang associate were arrested in an undercover narcotics investigation into drug sales throughout McHenry County and seized $15,000 worth of cocaine, the sheriff’s office said.

Jovani Lucio, 22, of 203 Gross St., Mundelein, is charged with unlawful criminal calculated drug conspiracy, a Class X, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, two counts possession of a controlled substance, deputies said. His bond was set at $120,000.

Abel Aguilar, 21, of 305 University St., Harvard,  and Rafael Aguilar Jr. 25, of the same address, are each charged with unlawful criminal calculated drug conspiracy, a Class X felony, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class X felony and unlawful possession of a controlled substance,  according to reports. Each man’s bond was set at $100,000.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) from the Rockford field office arrested the three in the 100 block of N. Eastwood Drive in Woodstock on Thursday, Nov. 15 after observing them conducting a drug sale, sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies seized 153 grams of cocaine, a 2003 Lincoln Continental, and a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, according to reports.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.
